1. What will it cost?

Skiing or snowboarding can be more affordable than you think! Of course, the costs of skiing depend on what you are looking for. Are you a regular skier and simply need a lift ticket? Or do you have a season pass and need rental equipment? For the first time skier or boarder, the Discover Program or Private Lesson Package includes rental, lift ticket and lesson for one low cost; it may be just what you are looking for! Tubing is fun, easy, inexpensive and a great alternate snow sport. Review the details of the Tube Park for pricing and regulations.

2. What time do you open?

Visit our Hours of Operation Page.

3. Where can I purchase a ticket?
There are several locations in which you can purchase your lift ticket:

  • If you have your own equipment you can access the slopes through the overpass in the West parking lot and purchase a lift ticket at the Sunset Ticket office. Its located right at the end of the overpass.
  • If you require rental equipment, you can purchase your lift ticket when picking up the necessary equipment from the Rental Shop.
  • If you are accessing the slopes via the tunnel near the Rental Shop, you can purchase your tickets at Visitor Service in the Main Chalet or visit the Slopeside Cafe on the outside of the chalet. Visit our trail map to view the specific locations.

4. Where do I check in for my private or discover lesson?
If you are pre-booked or doing a walk-in for a discover lesson please check in at the Rental Shop. Our friendly staff will give you your lift ticket (valid for the lifts in the Learning Centre only) and fit you for your rental equipment. If you are checking in for a Private Lesson and you require equipment we recommend that you check in at the Rental Shop, otherwise you can check in at Visitor Service on the lower level of the main Chalet.

5. How do I find out the conditions before leaving home?
View the snow conditions overview on the home page and follow the link for detailed conditions. Glen Eden’s slope conditions are updated daily on the website by 7:30am and on outgoing phone message at 905-878-5011 (press 6) by 6:30am. The snow conditions report details the number of runs open, the slope conditions and snow depth. The weather report can also be accessed from our home page to better help you prepare for hitting the slopes.

6. Should I take a lesson?
If you are new to skiing or snowboarding or have been away from the sport for a while then a private lesson with a certified instructor can help you learn the skills you need for a quicker progression and years of enjoyment on the slopes. Discover lessons are a great introduction to the snow sport of your choice. For one low price you get a lesson, lift ticket and rentals. Seasoned skiers and snowboarders can benefit from lessons too! Perhaps your skiing/riding has hit a plateau or maybe you want to add some freestyle moves to your bag of tricks. Our certified instructors can help you achieve your goals, whatever they may be! Private lesson, ski lesson or snowboard lesson, one time or a package, lessons are a great way to learn the sport or fine-tune your skills.

7. How long before I know how to ski/board?
Timelines will differ for everyone but the determining factor is whether or not you take a lesson. Those who enroll in private lessons are given the skills needed to progress safely and quickly. Many people choose to do it alone and it can be done but it may be a longer and more painful road to enlightenment. Skiers who enroll in ski lesson programs will usually acquire fairly good balance along with the ability to stop and change direction on mellow slopes within the first few hours. The learning curve for snowboarding is a little flatter when starting off so you can expect to take a couple of days to master these same skills. Remember, everyone is different and will progress at different speeds. If you excel more quickly, try to spend time mastering the basics before you rush off to the steeper slopes so your progression won’t be stunted by a lack of the basics. If it takes you a bit longer to catch on, don’t fret. Enjoy being out on the slopes, do only what you are comfortable with and before you know it you’ll be sliding circles around your friends…especially the ones that didn’t take a lesson.

8. When should I call last run?
Every smart skier and snowboarder knows that sometimes the “last run” is better left for the next time. When enthusiasm has surpassed energy at the end of the day, its time to pack it in. Continuing to ski or board when you’re tired can lead to an accident. Save the last run for next time.

9. There’s no snow in my backyard; how do you have snow?
There may be no snow in your backyard but there is snow in ours! Glen Eden has phenomenal snowmaking capabilities that allow use to make snow, often before the first natural snowfall of the season. Our snowmaking is constantly evolving and improving.
